Space allocation planning is a complex problem involving the allocation of limited resources to meet business goals, reduce operating costs, and promote an effective and productive workplace. The optimization process has many facets and is very complex. So that some benefit could be realized from incremental accomplishments during the development phase, the effort was broken down into modules. These modules include visualization, optimization algorithm, data maintenance, web interface.

A video overview of the space allocation optimization effort is available on this site and a low resolution version is available from YouTube. This video provides a introduction to each of the modules and how the space optimizations tools deal with the issues. A white paper is also available which goes into more detail.

A video demonstration of the new web dashboard has been created to show how users interact with the system.
